My first book Coastline…
chronicles a two-week trip down California's iconic Pacific Coast Highway between the cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles.
In the Autumn of 2016, my husband Luke and I decided to hit the road in California with a simple plan - to follow the highway South. For ten days we travelled along the rugged coastline of Big Sur, through the rolling hills of San Simeon, and settled under the swaying palm trees of Venice Beach. I didn’t anticipate becoming so enchanted by it all and couldn’t resist documenting along the way.
Coastline includes fifty engravings and pochoir illustrations which draw inspiration from the autumnal coastal plant-life and dazzling ocean views, and are accompanied by my travel diary. The book is a celebration of a beautiful landscape and a tribute to that time travelling down the California coast.
Coastline is being printed and published by Nomad Letterpress, based in Whittington, UK. Each book will be printed from the original engraving on beautiful heavy-weight Zerkall paper and the text will be letterpress printed, set in 12pt Walbaum. The book will be bound by Roger Grech and will be covered in Japanese book cloth.
