Earlier this year I had the pleasure of creating fourteen linocuts for the Makers & Mavericks section of the third Hiut Denim Yearbook.
The yearbook as a whole is a masterpiece, it was a long time in the making and Nick Hand really pulled out all the stops. If you haven't seen it yet it's worth getting your hand on a copy.
Working with Nick is always a joy, he designed this part of the yearbook to be printed by letterpress so it only seemed natural for them to print directly from the lino also. I'm so pleased with how they all turned out. The lino that I've been using (soft cut) has printed really nicely and lasted well too.
Each page was typeset and printed by letterpress-superstar Pat Randle at Nomad Letterpress (based under the roof of the Whittington Press) and the results are really beautiful. Thanks to Nick and all at Hiut for asking me to be involved!
