Happy Friday everyone! After we worked some of last weekend and I'm exhibiting at Printfest next weekend, I'm pretty pleased that we have an open couple of days to relax with friends. Below are a few things that caught my eye this week. Have a great weekend!
Gregory Ain: The Modern Home as Social Commentary
There isn't a ton of information around about mid-century American architect Gregory Ain, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this book existed. Ain believed in bringing good design to the masses, he was committed to designing for the lower and middle classes and is credited for being the first architect that did not contemplate servants. Anyone who uses their art form to shape a more egalitarian world is admirable in my book.
Heath Ceramics Virtual Factory Tours
Along with just about everyone else out there, I am a fan of Heath Ceramics. A quick google search will bring back numerous images of their amazing studios like this one, which is actually quite good, but Heath Ceramics also have these great virtual factory tours full of beautiful photographs on their website which I completely missed until this week!
Block Shop Guide to Jaipur
It definitely feels like summer is round the corner and we've started to think about our warm-weather plans. This travel guide to Jaipur by the ladies behind the amazing textiles company Block Shop is really charming and makes me feel all fired up for an adventurous colourful holiday!
