Since I've worked creatively with my partner Luke Sital-Singh on several projects, I was delighted to be featured in one of his recent Slow Makers short films, alongside Nick Hand and Ellen Bills of The Letterpress Collective. In the film Luke and I reflect on the process of working together, and in particular the original print we all collaborated on to celebrate the release of Luke's latest album, Time is a Riddle. I hope you enjoy briefly peering through the window into our working lives...
Last month I created a large linocut of a rook for Bristol-based singer songwriter Phil King, to be printed on the inner record sleeve of his latest LP. He asked the wonderful folk at the Letterpress Collective to print the sleeves for his CD and vinyl record and as always, what they've created is total magic. Below are a few photographs of my work in progress, the finished linocut and the final printed sleeve... ta-daaa!
Here are a few photos of the latest lino and letterpress workshop at The Letterpress Collective in Bristol. We all had a great couple of days making things and having some good chats, and I always learn something new from Nick and Ellen about letterpress and setting type. I think it might've been our best workshop yet, thanks to everyone for joining us!
This weekend I'll be at the Letterpress Collective in Bristol running a linocut and letterpress workshop with the wonderful Nick Hand. There are still a couple of spots left so if you fancy getting inky fingers this weekend head over to letterpresscollective.org for tickets and information.
Earlier this year and over the summer I ran a few workshops with Nick; we have lots of fun with everyone and I always learn something new too. It can be very therapeutic and satisfying to work with your hands and it's not often that you get a chance to have a go on some of the amazing machines they have in that workshop. Would love to see you there!
